But it also keeps the most valuable bonuses out of reach until you’ve sunk a lot of cash into the release. Not the most gambler friendly approach.
With 243 ways to win, there’s no turning individual paylines on and off. Instead, players can only adjust the coin value and the number of coin per payline. Free Spins: There are four different types of free spins in Immortal Romance. Each one comes with different mechanics, and expands the story of its associated character. You start with Amber’s bonus unlocked, and have to keep hitting the special feature to unlock new ones. It’s a dastardly design by Microgaming! They keep us hooked by making us grind for better bonuses and the resolution to each character’s story.
- Amber: Ten free spins where all wins are multiplied by 5x. This special features can be retriggered.
- Troy: Becomes available after free spins have been activated five times. Fifteen free spins are granted during which vampire bats turn symbols into 2x or 3x multipliers. Total multiplier caps at 6x.
- Michael: Unlocks after ten free spins have been played. Twenty free spins are awarded with the Rolling Reels mechanic unlocked. Each consecutive win increases the multiplier up to 5x.

While the graphics aren’t as great as they were when it first launched, they still get the job done. The developers went all out to invest players into the story. And if you’re hooked, you won’t stop until you learn Sarah’s secret.
Gameplay being ‘borrowed’ from another game by the same developer did not sit well with us. That said, we’re willing to look through Microgaming’s fingers. All the core mechanics are the same, but each one has been improved. And that’s good enough for us.
